OUR STORY
HOW IT STARTED
**The Birth of S.L. Revival Co.: A Legacy Inspired by Uncle Bobby B.**
The legacy of my Uncle Bobby sparked this whole thing. Growing up in the American South, I was captivated by a weathered trucker hat that always sat on the dashboard of his old farm truck—sun-bleached, worn, full of stories. He was a costal guy - surfing, fishing a pillar of the community and full of stories. Around 2011, I saw a surfer wearing a faded hat with a neighboring state flag reminding me of Uncle Bobby, and thought, “Why not our North Carolina flag?” I could find nothing like it.
I ran a small surf shop, so I enlisted the help of our employees. We designed a reimagined North Carolina flag with a muted palette, khaki stitching, and a sodium-enzyme “Salt-Washed™” finish to create a worn-in look. That hat became the first piece for S.L. Revival Co. and it is still our best selling product.
Our name—rooted in the Latin for pursuit and freedom—reflects what we stand for: preserving the true meaning of flags, and crafting heritage-driven apparel that tells a story of community and culture. We dig into archives and museums to tell authentic stories, and we refuse to lend our work to uses that strip those symbols of their original intent. Our products are not political, they are historical.
Beyond clothing, we invite people to explore and connect—#walktheworld is our call to celebrate journeys and cultural curiosity. This company is a tribute to my Uncle Bobby’s spirit of family, friends, coastal culture, surfing, an honest pursuit of freedom, history, and good storytelling. Join us.
